I wish you a happy, healthy and creative New Year!
And here’s the last dress I made in 2014!
It’s also my last dress with my sewing machine, because I sold it. I’ll tell you later about this.
In the beginning of October I sewed my first Schoolhouse Tunic from Sew Liberated. I like it very much, it’s chic and makes a good shape. The only thing I’m not totally happy with is the length. It’s not long enough to be worn as a dress but it’s too long for a shirt. The idea to sew it again and lengthen it to have a nice dress came to my mind while I finished my first try.
Then I needed a dress for the New Year’s Eve Party and found the Pattern in my Stock.
I sewed it from knit which is very comfortable to wear.
The bodice could be a little bit longer, but it’s okay.
I cut off a few centimeters on the waist to keep the stretchy fabric in shape. Furthermore I placed two darts on the back.
I totally freaked out with sewing blind seams. 😀 I used them all over the dress, also on the Sleeves. And I LOVE THEM! 😀
I really like my new dress and I had so much fun to wear it on New Year’s Eve.
The day after I packed my little brother machine in the box and sent it to the new owner. I bought it 6 month ago and I was sad because we had a short but intensive time together 😉
I miss my machine but from a realistic point of view it’s better to sell an almost new machine instead of an old and defective machine. The functions are not enough for me anymore and I need a model on a higher level.
I had also the dream to embroider my clothes. With the help of Santa Claus, the money I got for the old machine, my incredible negotiating skills and a little bit of my savings I could order a brand new brother innov-is 955 – wuhuuuuuu! This is a combined sewing and embroidery machine I and belive me – I wait at the door for the postman since days 😀
Have a nice day!
