Pink, Rose, Hummingbird – winter for a four-year-old

Today I’m going to show you a dress in a very small size for my little niece.
Sometimes I can’t help falling in love with one of this nice fabrics designed for kids. How good that I have a niece and a nephew and have the chance to sew for them.

My niece is already a fashion victim. She only wears the clothes she likes to and she has a fable for dresses and skirts. This is okay in the summer, but a kind of a challenge during the winter.
To sew something for her is a challenge, too. In less than 5 seconds she’ll give you a thump up or down – maybe she’ll be the next Anna Winthur?

Back to the dress:
It’s made from knit (Hamburger Liebe) and it’s a nice quality.
The pattern for this beautiful hoodie dress is free and made by Rosi. You can choose between two different hoods: a classic version or a pointed cap. Guess, what I did? 😀
For the skirt you can choose between a gathered skirt and a box pleat.

I did only a few adjustment like lining the dress completely. It’s for the winter season and it had to be warm enough.

I made my first rolled hem with my serger – wuhuuu!

Now I’m well prepared for the Nicholas Day next Saturday and I hope both of them are happy with their gifts.
Ho ho ho!
